MMC103 [Recorded2010]

A good survey of 20C recorder music covering the instrument's renaissance from Carl Dolmetsch etc onwards.

It will be a required purchase for recorder players everywhere, not just in England. The Rubbra is a particular favourite of mine which I loved to play.

But I have a caveat which will come to the fore on MusicalPointers more and more...

Why a CD?

Jill's 10-minute YouTube video (screen grabs below) is worth more than the whole of the well-packed 71 mins disc ! She is charmingly natural, relaxed, fluent and a joy to be with on line! Aleks Szram seems to have abandoned playing everything by memory and he can, as always, be seen to be totally attentive to his partner.
