HANS VON BÜLOW
Ballade for piano op.11 (1854) Carnevale di Milano (1871) etc

Mark Anderson piano

Nimbus NI 5876

Rated as a conductor and pianist, Hans von Bülow (1830-1894) was a prolific composer, but his piano music, on this showing, is only for collectors who prefer to encounter music they don't know in familiar 19 C idioms. It seems far less significant than e.g. Felix Weingartner's.

Anderson is rather heavy handed with the miniatures of Carnevale di Milano, and I was unable to listen to them through.
